When the holidays approach and the big chimes are meant to ring, it takes ten strong men to make it happen. The sense of community among the villagers is also evident in other customs that play a significant role around Christmas time. It's now the time for making bacon; children go from farm to farm reciting poems; house chapels are decorated; and there's work to be done in the forest.
